RAPHAEL VIALLET
Raphael has 15 years of infrastructure finance experience gained through acquisitions & financings of businesses or projects across the energy, utilities, and transport sectors. Prior to launching Impact Africa Invest, Raphael was a senior investment advisor for the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), a debt fund focused on Sub-Saharan Africa and providing long-term financing for privately owned infrastructure projects and companies. Raphael also gained experience in emerging markets & impact finance by volunteering in microfinance institutions in Senegal and in Ecuador during 2014.
Before EAIF, Raphael worked for infrastructure funds as an equity investor and asset manager at First State Investments and 3i. He also advised public and private clients on the procurement and financing of PPP projects whilst at PwC. Raphael holds an MSc from Neoma Business School (Sup de Co Reims, France). Raphael is fluent in French, English and Spanish.

Nick has been in banking for 44 years, largely in credit risk management including 33 years with Barclays. He has worked in Africa since 1998. From 2005 to 2014 Nick was CEO of Frontier Markets Fund Managers, the manager of the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund and GuarantCo.
